Lush Shop Tour in Oxford – A Special Blogger Invite.. 💆🏻🛁🍋

Hey everyone!

I was very pleasantly surprised (and super excited!) when Lush Oxford sent me an invite to attend the opening of their new store at the most anticipated Westgate Centre here in Oxford.

The Westgate Shopping Centre is a major shopping centre that had recently been extensively remodelled and extended (and I mean a huge amount of space!). Though not suprisingly it cost a whopping £440m which is a phenomenal sum of money. However, the good news is that it has created numerous job opportunities as well as providing us keen shoppers with many visual delights. We even have a massive John Lewis amongst some of the huge brands available.

Oh and not forgetting the stunning rooftop views of Oxford which is just breathtakingly beautiful!

Here’s a little birds eye view for you from the middle floor.

However, today I’d love to take you on a tour around the Lush store. Are you excited? I certainly am. Ha!

Even if you’ve never stepped a foot inside the Lush store, you’ll be familiar with the distinct smell (a flower bomb explosion) from a mile away when walking past one. For me it’s a mix of peanut butter and milkshake.. Don’t you guys think?

The Lush store in Oxford makes it the fifth biggest in the uk. It’s a beautiful maze of sorts, almost a huge Alice in Wonderland experience. It was bright and colourful, lovely dim lighting, upbeat music, beautiful scent of the  bath bomb explosions and lots and lots of fabulous hand made products. Almost like a bakery for body and bath treats! *ahh bliss*

There was just so much to see and take in that I didn’t know where to begin. That’s when I was greeted by the very lovely Megan who was ever so friendly and helpful and was to be my lovely guide to all things lush and fabulous!

Megan was just so insightful when it came to product knowledge and information about the history of Lush products. I truly got to learn so much.

(Here is Megan working her magic with the lush bath bombs!) 🌈

This blue one was the gooey jelly bath bomb and it felt just so gooey and jelly like as the name suggests..  It was one of Lush’s new formula’s and just felt so therapeutic.. perfect for Halloween!

“Settle in for a good soak with an original Lush invention, exploding with essential oils and tons of fizzy fun. Whether you’re after a relaxing, petal-laden floral soak or an invigorating multi-layered explosion of colour and scent, there’s a bath bomb for every bathing experience”.

Here’s me creating one below and running my hands in the mixture..

Bath Bombs – The original fizzy bath time treats!

Next we moved over to the fresh hand-made soaps section and gosh there was such a huge selection of products. Lush really has an array of products and there’s something to suit everyone out there. You really can’t enter Lush and not leave with a bucket load of things.. it’s just so tempting!

Just look at that burst of colour on the soap section. Isn’t it just so bright and colourful. The Shooting Star soap was just so heavenly!

Here’s a few pics of the products that Megan showed me across the stores..

We also encountered makeup and hair products which was very new and exciting for me. I had no idea Lush ventured into hair and makeup. I couldn’t resist and had to try a few things. Hee Hee

Megan very kindly demonstrated one of the lippie shades for me below..

“Perfect for pout”

Megan demonstrating the intensity of the solid lippie block.

These solid bar of lippies are just so highly pigmented and I can imagine it lasting all day, even through lunch dates *ahem ahem*. The vibrant colour and formula is simply moisturising.

Here is a little excerpt from the website;

“Highly pigmented, long-lasting colours in a gentle, moisturising base? Yes, please! Our liquid lipstick have a jojoba oil, rose wax and candelilla wax base to soften dry lips and keep them looking rich and bright. Wear your colour boldly or tone it down for a subtle look – however you wear your lipstick, it’ll stay put all day long”.

We then headed over to my favourite section which is *drum roll* the haircare corner.

Megan asked me whether I had any concerns regarding my hair and she could then suggest some products that would take care of any problem areas.

I mentioned how dry my ends can become during the winter, especially with the chilly weather kicking in now.

Megan subsequently showed me this jar of magic that will banish any dry ends and will moisturise the hair thoroughly to restore it back to its normal self. The smell was so lovely. I put some of this deliciousness to the ends of my hair and it really felt so shiny and healthy with only one coating. I was also given some samples of this lovely mix for my hair towards the end of the tour.

Lush also sells shampoo bars which are mighty bars that are perfect for travelling and holidays.

“These mighty bars are concentrated pucks of shampoo that can outlast two to three bottles of the liquid stuff – one bar will last upto 80 washes! They’re also packed full of essential oils and fresh ingredients so you’ll have gorgeous hair every time”.

I was then taken into skincare kitchen corner, where the lush experts give you a lowdown on your skin concerns.

I explained to Megan how I had combination skin and again just like my hair it gets dry during the winter months.

This table above is where Megan and I sat to discuss my skincare needs.

Megan very excitedly dashed off to the kitchen counter and brought back a tray of these beauty treats for me to try. They were especially tailored for my skin type which was rather nice as I didn’t have to spend time finding the right products for me.

The face cream literally sinking into my skin – so nourishing!

P.s – it had elements of honey 🍯 which was pure deliciousness!

I also got to listen to the soundtrack Lush creates for their spa treatments. They have their own music and soundtrack which is just so amazing. Did you have any idea? 🎧

A few more pictures of the tour for you..

I had to buy this little festive wand for myself  – sugar & spice, with all things nice!

“Art in the form of scent”

“Birdsong and music swirl through our secret perfume lab in Poole, England. Here, fine fragrances inspired by art, poretry and culture are dreamed up and blended using the world’s best essential oils and absolutes. Spritz on a touch of inspiration and see where it takes you”.

One of the few selected stores in the uk who sell these Lush premium fragrances. 🇬🇧

Thank you ever so much to Lush Oxford for my lovely invite and to the very lovely Megan for all her help and assistance with the store tour.  Her product knowledge and expertise was simply commendable. Thank you so much for a wonderful and a memorable day! 💗

Ooh and before I go, here’s a small sneak peek of the goodies I got in store..

  5. You are truly blessed! This made me crave a Lush session (as I haven’t been in such a long time). I won a small bottle of American Cream conditioner in a giveaway and fell in love, but then was highly disappointed when I found out the full size costs $35 and it really isn’t even that much- I have a lot of hair so it wouldn’t take me very long to go through it. My boyfriend and I love our bath time, so I’m sure we’ll grab a bunch of bath bombs & bubble bars soon! This was such a fabulous walk through post full of lovely pics (: thanks for sharing xoxo

Thank you ever so much for the love 💗 Oh gosh, I totally understand what you mean, the products are so deliciously wonderful but a little on the pricey side.. I wish it were a little on the budget buy as I would get through the bottle so quick too! I totally feel you girl! #longhairproblems 😩 I have however hinted to family that I’m loving the bath bombs, you and your boyfriend must grab a handful as they would make the perfect bath treat! 💕😘
