A few of my Summer Beauty Essentials.. ☀️

Hey everyone!

I wanted to share a few of my favourite beauty essentials (and tips!) with you for this season.

The holiday season is upon us…! The arrival of bright vibrant energy of this new season has us all feeling energised with a new found enthusiasm. With summer creeping upon us, now is the time to take your beauty regime to the next level.  Here are a few products to achieve that flawless summer look.

We all want to look and feel great, often one of the best ways to get healthy glowy skin is to simply get plenty of rest and to eat well. In the admidst of our busy schedules, it’s always important to take some time out and let our bodies, skin and spirit the time to recover from the day and give our systems a restorative downtime.

However, from time to time we end up needing a little helping hand and this is where these beauty products come in handy.. take a peek below!

Yves Saint Lauren Touché Eclat Radiant Touch Highlighting Pen

Radiance in a Flash by Yves Saint Laurent.

This product is absolutely a must-have for all beauty lovers. I have been using this pen concealer for years and can honestly say there’s none like it. I purchased this particular one last Christmas (hence you’ll notice the extra sparkly packaging- who doesn’t love sparkle right?!) and have been using it ever since. A little goes a long way with this concealer pen and you’ll truly be amazed by the results. The Christmas packaging is just so stunning!

‘An explosion of stars; a celebration of sparkle. A limited edition Touché Eclat, the must-have pen of makeup artists, adorned in gold and silver sparkle. Touché Eclat is the beauty essential to conceal dark circles and add instant radiance to your complexion’.

YSL have started doing the different colour shades now which is just amazing. This particular one is in the original shade 01. However, I’ve read shade 02 has a pink undertone to it which might be worth me trying out when this one runs out. Have you tested any of the new shades yet? Do let me know below.

It’s perfect for those who don’t like to wear heavy foundation, you can literally dab this concealer (think under-eye bags, redness, scars) on all your problem areas and voila it’s all gone!

I love how it brightens up the complexion instantly. Just one sweep of this wonder pen and all the problems areas are covered. No more late nights, well even if you do then this concealer pen has you covered.. *wink* 😉

Here’s a little swatch of the concealer below though the pictures do no justice. You can see the tiny particles that radiate when sweeper on the skin.

Here is a little excerpt from the Boot’s website;

Soap & Glory Glow Lotion

Soap & Glory is literally beauty on a budget.

I have been a big fan of this vintage retro brand since I can remember. I love the vibe and ethos of this brand. It’s won numerous awards (and rightly so)  and I love how iconic their products are. I’m also a massive fan of their eyeliners and will write more about it in the coming weeks.

This shimmer lotion is pure gorgeousness! I mean anything that gives a glow is certainly on the top of my list. Firstly, it smells gorgeous (the kind of subtle strawberry picking smell in the summer – I hope this makes sense!), it takes me straight back to my childhood days. Once applied, it lasts forever and the subtle scent throughout the day is just so lovely. I do have a slight obsession with highlighters, I must admit!

P.s – there’s no irritation and stickiness which is so refreshing to see. The skin literally drinks it all in.

This beautiful shimmer lotion sinks into the skin so effortlessly leaving a lovely sheen and fragrance on the skin. Apply tactically to emphasise your best assets. It’s the best pick me up product especially for the holidays.

I’ve not seen this product on the shelves recently, I really hope it hasn’t been discontinued. If you can get your hands on this, I will highly recommend it. Again a small amount goes a long way with these products so well worth the price.

Instructions for use:

Use all over as a moisturiser on your neck and shoulders as a fragrant shimmer, or as a stand-in for stockings when you find yourself short of a little shin shine.

Here you can notice the shimmer in the lotion.. it has a lovely subtle glow to it.

My skin literally drinking it all in, so moisturising..

Due to their retro packaging, it reminds me a lot of the Benefit cosmetics. I love both the brands, anything that’s vintage or retro, is right up my street. They make such lovely gifts and imagine these cute goodies on your vanity table, ahhh bliss!

L’Oréal Nail Colours

As you all know from my previous posts, I adore my L’Oréal nail colours.

I love the huge selection of shades available, it becomes impossible to choose amongst them, therefore I love it when Boots have a 3 for 2 offer on. Ha! I actually picked these colours last year, these are my staple summer colour nails. They’re bright, vibrant and super colour-tastic!

A vibrant pink has always been my favourite go to colour, it’s fun, flirty and ever so girly. It’s perfect for days where you’re running errands and want a quick splash of colour on your nails. It simply brings the whole look together.

A classic Rouge is always a beauty signature. It’s a classic sexy shade that never goes out of style. Men love a woman in red. It’s a seductive hue that is safe for your nails, but oh ever so dangerous for your date! Every woman needs a red shade in her beauty bag. To describe it in one word; a bombshell.

L’Oréal formula glides over nails with ease, without chipping or damaging.

If you want to add a bit of fun and madness in your routine, then paint the town in orange.

A hot orange is the perfect shade for this summer. It’s fun, edgy and totally alluring. I’ve been using this colour for the last couple of months and have been loving this beauty.

Imagine this hot orange colour with a tan, oh isn’t it going to look gorgeous! The effect is traffic-stopping in the best way possible.  🍊

Now, even though this isn’t a beauty product but I had to include it in this post as it’s all about shimmer and sparkle.

Accessorize Sparkle Body Bag

I purchased this little beauty from Accessorize at a discounted price of £12.50 as the sales are on currently.

I needed a cute little sparkly bag for my blogger event (read all about it in the previous post) and this was just the perfect bag for it.

It’s the perfect size to carry your everyday essentials without loading it with extra items (as we always end up doing!) *sigh*. I found the sparkly detailing so cute, the colours were bright yet subtle and you can easily carry this with your day time look too. The gold chain adds an element of chic to it. I actually love this little bag and have been wearing it quite a lot recently. Please do take a sneak peek on the Accessorize website to see if it’s still available if you’d like it.

P.s – it looks quite small but in fact is quite roomy which is always a bonus.

I really hope you found this post to be useful . Do share your thoughts below. I’d love to know.

You can also catch me on Instagram @throughmylens123, I’d love to see you there! 👋🏼

Until next time,
