Keep the Zen whilst in the Den – Quarantine Survival Kit for new Mama’s πŸ‘ΆπŸ»πŸ§–πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

Hey Mama’s!

Are you feeling stressed with the thought of staying indoors with a newborn for the foreseeable future?I hear you, being a new mom and being stuck indoors can be emotionally draining. I am also going through moments of mixed emotions where I’m so blessed and grateful for spending quality time with my lil munchkin, however becoming restrained indoors has caused a stir of emotions within me. The thought of adjusting to a ‘new norm’ under these circumstances and not being able to enjoy nature and the outdoors has really made me shift my perspective on life and routine in general.

However, not all is doom and gloom as I’m very hopeful we’ll be able to enjoy all the things we used to as before (fingers crossed!). Just hang in their mama’s, as I help you to curate a list of things that has helped a new mama like me through these tough times. I really hope it helps you out too.I’m this edit, it’s all about pampering yourselves. ‘Err pampering?! Where’s the time to pamper yourself when you have a crying baby?’, I hear you ask. Don’t worry I have you all covered. Just hear me out. Being a new mom, this was a very big concern for me too. It just seems like there’s not enough hours in a day anyway, then put a baby in the mix and you’re running at lightening speed to get things done. However, I was literally draining myself out until I took a deep breath and re-assessed my situation. And you know what, with a few changes to your routine and helpful little products you can also do the same.

I’ve found a few gems that I think will also help you during these times. So without further ado, lets dive right into it..

Hands up if you forget to fill up your water bottle more than once a day? It’s very important to keep drinking the good stuff as it keeps you hydrated and does wonders for your immune system as well as removing toxins from the body. If you’re at home with a baby or not, it’s equally important to drown yourself in that H20.Experts advise to drink a minimum of 6-8 glasses of fluid a day. Tea and coffee counts (yay!) but water by far is the healthiest option.

If you don’t like the taste of water, why not add a slice of lemon, lime or orange? Or better still, I like to add these Waterdrop Microdrink to my water which gives it the real taste of natural fruits and plants (just drop it in cold water and watch it fizzle.. Voila!) to give you a boost for when you need it the most.

I am using the ‘Zen‘ range as they contain; Star fruit – Lemon Grass – White tea flavour. These are especially ideal for new mama’s as they contain Vitamin C, Folic Acid and Biotin. You know we need all that good stuff. Ha!

Being a new mom, one of the things I was struggling with was topping up on my water intake. However, ever since I found this gem of a product life has become so much easier. On a side note, my hubby absolutely loves this bottle. He had been going to the gym before quarantine and would sneak my bottle with him. He raved about how easy it has been for him to keep drinking water without the fuss of plastic bottles (that are damaging to mother earth too!).

So I think I’m going to order a couple more for my family members/friends so that it’ll help them with their quarantine routine. I’m thinking of putting a few essential items (such as the water bottle and flavoured drops) in a gift basket and this one they’ll really treasure. I strongly believe in taking care of your mind body and soul and this does just that. A perfect gift!

P. s – It’s a great travel companion to your holidays esp the warmer countries like Spain.

This Waterdrop Steel Water bottle will keep your water chilled for 24 hours and you won’t need to keep rushing to the kitchen to keep refilling it thus saving you time (and plastic!). They have been such a life saver for me. If you’re a working mom, a gym enthusiast, a health conscious being or anyone who simple loves drinking water, then this will be very beneficial. I like that as it’s a 1 litre bottle, I’m able to track how much I’m drinking throughout the day.

P.s – Oh and watch out tea-drinkers, this bottle also keeps your hot drinks warm for up to 12 hours. I mean, a complete win/win situation!

As I keep hearing on Instagram, that people are going to come out of quarantine with glowing and clear skin.Well, such is not the case with new mama’s as we’re constantly on our toes with the little ones. However, one quick routine with a face cream or a mask and it makes such a great difference. For example, I find once my baby is asleep during the night (she tends to sleep a little longer during the nights compared to the days), so that’s the time I dedicate to a quick facial routine. I whack on this face mask which is just so soothing and it helps to calm my skin from the stresses of the day. It also has a relaxing scent which helps me to drift to sleep easily. That’s until the next cry from the baby!

Top tip: Lavender is a great stress reliever and really helps with sleep and relaxation. This is especially needed for mama’s who are constantly busy. I have placed an order for some lavender oil that I will use to mist over my pillows and room so that it helps to put me in a relaxed mood after all the stresses of the day. I will let you know how I get on with it. Stay tuned! πŸ‘€

If you’ve followed me right from the beginning of my blogging journey, then you’ll know that this isn’t the first time I’m raving about this product. I discovered this balm when I used to work for Boots the chemist. As I was lucky enough to attend a Skincare course at work, I came across this balm and realised what a miracle it was. I loved the fact that it’s a multi-purpose product (helleluja!) that truly lives upto its name.

As a kid, I remember my mother using a Tiger balm which was quite similar to this one and it was great for relieving colds, dry skin amongst many other things. Now this works like magic. If you mama’s have chapped skin, lips, dry hair, sore feet, a cold then whip this balm and see the difference it’ll make.I have been getting very dry hands with all the 20 second washing routine and I apply a light layer of this and it just absorbs into my skin like butter. It’s highly nourishing and what more can I say that I haven’t already.

Again, another product that I will highly recommend to you. Just remember a little goes a long way.

In addition to masks, the one that I have been using for years is Liz Earl’s Intensive nourishment treatment mask. I have really been drawn towards incorporating a healthy lifestyle and this mask contains all the delicious natural goodies within it.This mask is full of natural active ingredients which are great for your skin. Again, when you use products that have such lovely essential oils within it, not only do you feel relaxed and calm but your skin also thanks you for it. It’s perfect for all those hard working mama’s who have no time to pamper themselves.

Even though this edit is geared towards helping out new mama’s especially, however really it’s a post that it dedicated to everyone who is trying to make ends meet during these difficult times. I appreciate and applause everyone who is trying to stay optimistic during this pandemic and just know our rainbow is around the corner. We’re in it together! And we will get through this! πŸŒˆπŸ™πŸ»
