Festival Inspired Lookbook..! Las Fallas Festival! πŸŒ™βœ¨

Hey everyone!

You know it is officially spring when all the fresh sorbet colours start to appear in the shop and with them an intoxicating scent in the air.

As the temperatures are heating up the local restaurants and cafe’s are opening their doors and spreading their tables outside for a spot of dining. We’ve also been noticing a lot of ducklings, swimming in line in the pond just outside of our house. It’s a beautiful sight and this truly marks the arrival of the new season to us.

The beautiful magnolia tree outside of our house is bursting with colour as its bud begin opening and signalling the arrival of the new season.

How many of you have seen the blooms on the trees already? I get so excited and slightly (ok perhaps obsessively) mesmerised by the beauty of it all. It makes the surrounding area look so beautiful and picture perfect. 🌸🌸🌸
Once the weather warms up, there will be so many activities to participate in. As March sets in, more festivals are getting ready to entertain the locals and visitors alike.

You’ll find a whole array of cultural events on offer in Spain. After all, it is known to be the nation of ‘Fiesta’. You’ll be able to enjoy popular festivities, visit exhibitions, participate in major celebrations and of course wine and dine in style!

Spaniards really know how to let their hair down as the carnival fever sweeps across the nation as they prepare for the spectacular visual treats of the year. From huge street parties with incredible fireworks to carnivals and flamenco dancing with vibrant costumes and traditional music through to musicals and fun fairs. If you haven’t been to Spain, I would most def recommend. Just make sure to book dates for when the festivals are taking place. Spain’s festivals are full of culture and colour and what better way than being in the centre of it yourself.

So, bearing this in mind, I would love to share my first Festival inspired outfit with you. With Las Fallas festival  just around the corner, I thought why not start the festival season in style.

Las Fallas is all about fireworks and so I decided to add gold as my theme colour. πŸ”₯

So, I have put the following outfit together..

Metallic pleated skirt;

I managed to snap up a gold metallic pleated skirt not so long ago. I love how trendy but most importantly how truly comfortable it is. I love how celebrities and models on the runway have been rocking it – they’re everywhere from the catwalk to the red carpet.

It’s such a versatile statement piece as you can really dress it up or keep it casual paired with a jumper or a basic top.

So if you haven’t picked up your perfect skirt, why not give the pleated skirt a go especially if you want to refresh your look with a new wardrobe piece. For the spring and summer season, I see this being a huge trend! (Add this skirt for casual, work or a holiday outfit!).

It’s just so eye catching and I have received a ton of compliments since wearing it. I have since purchased a few more, and really can’t wait to rock them at the fiestas.

Metallic skirts look absolutely adorable and chic with any top, from basic white shirt for the everyday work look, to a graphic top for a more casual laid back look. You could even pair it up with a leather jacket to give it a more biker rock chick look to your outfit. No matter how you wear yours, you are truly going to make a statement with this one. Get inspired!

Black lace top;

I teamed mine with a buttoned up floral black lace top to give it a touch of sophistication especially when taking it through to the evening.

It’s a cute little black lace top that is just so easy to style. I didn’t wanted it to be busy with florals or patterns, just so that my jewellery can do the talking. (I’ll discuss the jewellery a little later). The metallic skirt is already the focal point in this outfit.

Again, lace tops are so very on trend at the moment. It’s my personal favourite. Lace gives off a very feminine and a bohemian vibe, which is one of the hottest looks this year. I love the button up detailing, and feel it just adds a touch of sophistication to the outfit.

Clutch purse;

Next, I decided to use my embellished clutch bag. I thought it went nicely with the outfit, as with festivals the more the blingier, the better it is! Haha

I love the Aztec inspired print (again one of my fave’s), it really adds to the outfit. It’s also a lovely size evening clutch bag, it’s enough to store your essentials like phone, makeup, wallet etc.

P.s – you know how the beads usually hurt when you’re holding an embellished clutch, but not with this one. They’re all laid down in line which gives it a smooth finish. Does this even make sense? You know what I mean right?! I love love love this clutch!

Gemstone earrings;

Finally, I picked these gorgeous statement gemstone earrings to finish off the look.

They consist of rainbow moonstone which is just such a gorgeous gemstone. I’ve always found it to be very magical and mystical. Do you agree?

I love how they are statement making earrings, this is especially perfect for me as I have long hair so anything smaller really hides itself. I need statement pieces for it to really show through. I love that it’s gold plated and has these beautiful pearls dangling at the bottom. It’s raw, rough cut gemstone which makes it even more unique!

These earrings strike the right balance between timeless and modern. You can be as creative as you want in wearing them.

Just imagine the sunlight hitting the gemstones at various angles, how gorgeous will they look!

Just look at those moonstone gemstones beaming with light! πŸŒ™βœ¨

Long beaded necklace;

I’ve also added a long beaded necklace that’s light but at the same time doesn’t take away from the focal point and completes the outfit for that chic polished look.

I will be wearing this look for the Las Fallas festival in Valencia, therefore I haven’t been able to model it for you in this post. I’ll be sure to add the pictures later .

I hope this post has inspired you a little in becoming more festive savvy. I will be sharing a lot more of the festival lookbook, so please keep an eye out.
