My Blogging Journey:

My little blog started off as I was procrastinating at home on a rather grey & gloomy afternoon. A typical British weather scenario for you! *sigh* ☔️

I always had a keen interest in photography and writing when I was younger. Also living in Oxford, the beauty of the city always captivated me. I used to love taking pictures of old architectural buildings and famous tourist sights, there is just so much to see and explore in the beautiful city of the dreaming spires. (occasionally spotting famous celebrities was also a bonus!) A complete bloggers delight if you ask me! 📸

Therefore, when blogging became quite a rage, I was really excited to be a part of it. However, I’m not at all a technical person so that aspect really petrified me (and still does! 😬) So, with much needed encouragement, I finally decided to give it a go and thus, this blog was born!

My advice to new bloggers:

Firstly, as with anything patience is the key. The results aren’t instant and it does take time. So please don’t be disheartened when you don’t see followers, likes or comments coming in straightaway as it takes time to build a readership. Keep putting quality content out (using relevant hashtags, networking, being active etc) and soon enough you’ll reap the benefits of your hard work.

Secondly, take good quality pictures as blogging is a visual medium. You don’t need to have the latest high tech camera (I still use my iPhone camera) but know your lighting, camera angles and you are good to go! P.s, readers love to see beautiful pictures and most of the time, it’s actually your pictures that catch everyone’s attention.

Wow that was fun! Thank you so much for this lovely nomination Mahla. I know how busy we can all get, so I’ll give a shoutout instead.

If you can accept, that’s amazing.. If not, at least other bloggers will be able to click on your blogs and have a read.. 💕

  1. Fab post Sheema and congrats!
I really enjoy your content so glad you’re getting the recognition you deserve! Definitely agree with the whole picture thing, but it’s also something I struggle with as well and can be a pain when you don’t have good lighting!
Also, thank you for the nomination 🙂

  2. Aww so lovely to hear from you hunny! You totally deserve the recognition, I love reading through your blog! 💕 Gosh, since I’ve moved to our new place in Spain, the lighting is terrible and harsh wall colours.. sadly we can’t do much to it.. wish I was back in my little haven back in England for blogging purposes.. it’s such a mission to take good pics! Ha 😞 You’re very welcome and thank you so much for your lovely comment 😘 xx

  3. Haha, Oh my goodness, you’re spot on! It’s all orange lighting, I’m so glad you know the drill! 😆 I moved a few months ago, it’s lovely but taking pictures not so good ( in the house anyway!) 😬 x

  4. I think when I think of Spain, that’s the first thing that comes to mind! It sucks because you’ll probably have content at the ready but no photos 😦 Any plans on repainting or is that a nono?x

  5. It’s such a shame as the houses are so cute/quaint cottage like, so beautiful but terribly harsh colours.. I always have to wait for specific hours of the day for good quality pictures under natural light.. we’re renting at the moment till we finally move to Valencia, so sadly we can’t really change anything.. but I’ve already told hubby the next house better have good darn lighting or else I go back to England! Haha 😂
