I’m so excited to bring this DIY project to you.
It’s been a while and since we’ve stepped into December, I thought it’d be the perfect DIY to share with your friends and family during the holiday season!
If you remember I showed you how to make those cute coffee mugs, well this post will show you how to fill and make full use of those mugs for your much needed cocoa break.. these cones are so easy to make and everyone from children to adults will love them!
P.s They’ll go down a treat with everyone as who doesn’t love hot chocolate and sweet treats.. 😉
Piping bag/cone bag
Extra Filling (e.g chocolate chip, marshmallows, nuts, biscuit crumbs etc)
Pom Poms (pref red ones for the reindeer nose)
Google eyes 👀
Jingle bells (optional)
Pour hot chocolate mix into a cone bag. You an either buy the ready made ones from the shop or grab some clear plastic sheets and make them into a cone bag yourself (it’s super easy!).
Once you’ve filled around one third of the bag with hot choc, layer the next ingredient into the bag. It could be chocolate chip followed by mini marshmallows for the perfect hot chocolate mug! Mmmm ☕️
Unfortunately, I didn’t have any of those extra ingredients at home so I used biscuit crumbs and nuts with the hot chocolate instead. I grabbed my Spanish version of Cadbury’s whole nut chocolate bar and started breaking it into pieces. It felt so good! Haha
I did the same for my biscuit crumbs, you can mix and match your favourite biscuits and create a filling for the cone. The beauty of this project is that you can personalise it to your preference so you can add whatever you choose to.
Next, twist and tie the end. You can also secure it with a rubber band.
Finally, you can attach a tag on instructions on making the hot chocolate. However, this step is totally optional.
So grab a red shiny Pom Pom and glue it on to create a nose. Next add those Google eyes and voila you’re done! (easy peasy..!)
Note: Now you can give them away as they are, they’re just super cute. They make perfect presents for teachers, work colleagues, neighbours or even as stocking fillers. Additionally, you can place them on the dining table during the festive season and see the reaction on the faces of your relatives and friends when they go “oooohh” and “ahhhh” when you give them as gifts.
Or better still you can grab a basket and add these chocolate cones, with some mugs, biscuits, and create a lovely hamper to give away!
Whilst I was making the reindeer cones, it occurred to me that I had these empty mason jars (or bottles!) at home. I thought why not make use of them too. This project looks super cute using various shaped mason jars too!
Now, you may have an empty jam jar lying around, if so grab it and follow these easy steps below..
As with the reindeer cones, fill it up with hot chocolate and your preferred filling..
Again, grab a red Pom Pom for the reindeer nose and glue on the Google eyes as below 👀
P.s I added oats (choc and nuts!) for the second reindeer bottle (for hubby!) He loves his oats so thought would make this one for him.. lol 😂
I then decided to be even more creative and went ahead to add antlers to the lid of the bottle. Now, this was all freehand but I’m pretty sure there’s lots of templates online in case you need it.. I’m sure much better than mine! 😕
I then added these onto the lid.. please do be careful as they take a while to dry..
I finished it off with some shiny ribbon, you can be as creative as you like..
Until next time,
