Revolution Redemption Palette Iconic 2 eyeshadow

Hey everyone!

I love my Urban Decay eyeshadow palettes but today I want to talk about this little palette by the brand Revolution. (I believe it’s a London based brand!)

Before leaving for Spain, I had run out of my favourite shade (Ydk) from the Urban Decay Naked Palette 2, I really didn’t wanted to purchase a brand new one just for this one shade at that point in time. Also paying £14 for this colour pot separately didn’t appeal to me either. I then decided to head over to Superdrug, it was then that I came across this palette on the shelf. I remember noticing this brand before very vaguely but never really paid much attention to it. It mentioned that it was very close to the urban decay colour palettes and after swatching a few of the colours on the back of my hand, I decided to buy it. It was only £4! 😱

You get 12 shades in this palette which is a mixture of mattes, pearls and shimmer.

My initial reaction was that even if the shade didn’t resemble the ydk shade, it’s still a bargain at the price that it was. This palette will take you from day to night look with ease. The brown, champagne and taupe shades mean that you can create many eye looks from the very basic to the smokey eye. At this price, there’s no excuse not to have this in your makeup bag.

Packaging: the packaging is very lightweight and simple. It’s got a clear plastic attached lid which is great as you can see all the colours without opening it.

It comes with a double ended sponge applicator.

Colours: whether they are the exact dupes or not, I find it’s a good palette to add to your nudes collection. You get a variety of finishes with it being matte and shimmer.

Pigmentation: the pigmentation surprisingly is very good. I didn’t have high expectations but it seems to do the job well. There’s hardly any fallout too.

Price: it’s a bargain at £4!

Cons: I personally don’t find the sponge applicator easy to work with. I either use my brush applicator from the urban decay palettes or my fingers.

Though the pigmentation is good, the colour does tend to fade through the day. Perhaps, using a primer would sort this issue out. I haven’t used it on myself yet but will certainly give it a go.

Verdict: just realised I forgot to add my verdict.. Whoops 😝

The colours are very true to the ones in the naked palette, though the intensity and saturation isn’t. You may need to load the brush a few times before you get the colour on it. But I believe you will know this beforehand as at this price, we cannot expect the exact true match.

However, in conclusion I will add that it consists of a great selection of colours and I will purchase again. The colours are stunning and I believe everyone will find it to be useful for your day to day usage.

All in all, this brand has been a saviour for those who don’t want to splash a fortune on the high ended urban decay colour palettes. It has many other colours that I’m very keen to try. It also has bright coloured palettes that work well for Halloween or costume based makeup.  I would highly recommend you all to have a look next time you’re in Superdrug!

I hope this has been helpful. Until next time Ciao
